In this continuing education program we continue our exploration of online therapy, with a focus on how to integrate online therapy into one’s practice. Topics include informed consent, online communication styles, and building the therapeutic relationship online. A special emphasis will be placed on video-conferencing and synchronous communication methods. We’ll also explore logistical issues, such as how to be ensure privacy, security, and confidentiality online.

Dr. Murphy’s clinical experience includes anxiety disorders, depression, interpersonal relationship issues, phobias, and stress disorders. His focus for treatment includes, stress management techniques including hypnotherapy and autogenic training as well as cognitive-behavioral techniques. His interests include ethics in professional practice, cultural & gender variations in managing interpersonal relationship, and media psychology. He’s licensed in the State of California as a clinical psychologist (#22783) and a member of the American Psychological Association.
